On January 22 Roland Pöntinen will join forces with the renowned
trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger for a chamber recital in Wigmore Hall, London.
They will perform works by Maxwell Davies, Florent Schmitt, Martinu,Schedrin, Martinu
and Ligeti. Pöntinen will also play solopieces by Scarlatti,Janácek and Albéniz.
Music lovers in Stockholm have two chances to hear Pöntinen in January:
On January 25 at 4 p.m. he will play a solo recital within the ”Music at Ballroom”-series in Upplands-Väsby outside Stockholm.The program features works by Chopin,Prokofiev and Rachmaninov.
January 30 – DELIRIUM - an All-Cultural-Event with poetry and music at FORUM, Sigtunagatan 14, Stockholm at 7.30 p.m. Texts by Lautréamont, Trakl & Michaux. Music by Duparc, Fauré, Webern, Berg and Scriabin – with actors Agneta Ekmanner, Staffan Göthe and Lakke Magnusson. Kerstin Avemo-soprano, Anna Lindal-violin, Kati Raitinen-cello, Ulf Forsberg-violin, Mikael Sjögren-viola, Cecilia Zilliacus-violin, Crichan Larson-cello, Roland Pöntinen & Love Derwinger–piano.
On this occasion Pöntinen will play Scriabin’s Fourth Piano Sonata Op.30 and, together with Zilliacus, Forsberg, Sjögren and Raitinen, the first movement of Fauré’s Second Piano Quintet Op.115.
